Anita Anand’s Journey: From Broadcasting to Becoming a Bestselling Author

Anita Anand is a British radio and television presenter, journalist, and author. Born in London to Indian parents, she has had an illustrious career in the media industry. Anita began her career in broadcasting in 1996 when she joined the BBC Asian Network as a news reporter. She then went on to work for various news outlets such as BBC Two’s Newsnight, Channel 4 News, and BBC Radio 5 Live. However, it was in 2001 when she became a household name as the presenter of the BBC’s flagship current affairs program, The World This Weekend.

Despite her success in broadcasting, Anita’s true passion has always been writing. In 2015, she released her first book, “Sophia: Princess, Suffragette, Revolutionary”, which explored the life of an Indian princess who became a leader in the British suffragette movement. The book received critical acclaim and was named a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week. In 2018, Anita released her second book, “The Patient Assassin: A True Tale of Massacre, Revenge and the Raj”, which delved into a controversial event in India’s history and its impact on the country’s relationship with the British Empire.
